The Scott Plasma RC Pro Bike is Scott's fully integrated triathlon machine — a bike developed in partnership with DRAG2ZERO aerodynamic specialists using CFD modeling and wind tunnel testing, built around an HMX carbon chassis that puts the Plasma RC among the lightest and most aerodynamically refined triathlon platforms available. The Plasma RC frame uses HMX carbon — Scott's highest-grade fiber, designated "High Modulus Extreme." HMX uses higher-modulus fibers that allow less material to achieve the same structural properties as heavier layups, translating directly into lower weight without sacrificing stiffness or durability. The aerodynamic development was led in collaboration with DRAG2ZERO, the specialists behind aerodynamic programs at multiple WorldTour teams. Scott and DRAG2ZERO tested variations of the head tube, downtube, seat tube, and tube junction designs through CFD and physical wind tunnel sessions, producing refined tube profiles optimized for total system aerodynamics — frame, cockpit, and rider together rather than frame drag in isolation. A patented slotted headset design allows the head tube to run narrower than a conventional tapered head tube, reducing frontal area and drag at the front of the bike where the frame meets the most airflow. The design also includes six different wheel mount positions, giving riders the ability to dial in the frame-to-tire gap for aerodynamic efficiency across different wheel depths and tire widths. Cables, hydraulic lines, and hydration are fully integrated into the frame and fork — nothing external disrupts the airflow from head tube to bottom bracket.
