The Salsa Fargo Apex S1000 AXS Transmission is a steel bikepacking bike built for mixed terrain riding, from short evening escapes to open ended adventures. Salsa pairs a triple butted Fargo Steel frame with a Cutthroat Carbon fork for a ride that balances comfort, durability, and loaded stability. Alternator 1.0 Flat Mount dropouts add flexibility for drivetrain setup, wheel and tire size, and wheelbase tuning, while the frame and fork cargo mounts make it easy to carry gear for long distance travel.

This build uses a SRAM Apex and S1000 AXS Transmission drivetrain for accurate shifting under load, plus 29 inch WTB Sport Terra i30 wheels and Teravail Camrock 29 x 2.2 inch tires for traction and control on rough surfaces. Flat mount disc brakes and Fargo’s proven off road touring platform, it is aimed at riders who want a drop bar bike that is comfortable, versatile, and ready for bikepacking.
