About this bike

The Colnago C68 Rossa Limited Edition Bike is a numbered Colnago road bike made to mark La Vuelta's 90th anniversary and its first official start in Turin. Only 90 will ever be made, and each is numbered on the fork. It is the third in a series of limited editions for the Grand Tours, after the Gioiello for the 2023 Giro and the Fleur-de-Lys for the 2024 Tour, and it pairs an elaborate paint scheme with a full Dura-Ace Di2 race build.

A Finish Built Around Turin and Spain

The color is Candy Red, a transparent red with ruby and garnet tones, laid over silver metal leaf that is applied by hand to every frame. Colnago ties the shade to the red Giuseppe Saronni made famous on his bikes in the early 1980s. The graphics draw on both host regions. A bull, a symbol shared by Turin and Spanish culture, appears across the bike, including on the bottle cage screws. A rhombus pattern, taken from the floor of the Galleria Grande at the Reggia di Venaria near Turin, repeats on the saddle and the bar tape. The bottle cages are a replica of the La Vuelta trophy, and the Colnago x La Vuelta logo sits on the CC.01 cockpit and the fork.

Each bike is hand-assembled at Colnago's factory in Cambiago, Italy, and takes about 50 hours to complete, including painting. It also comes with a commemorative book that follows the route between Turin and Spain and shows the places that inspired the design.

The C68 Frame

Underneath the paint, the C68 is built from eight modular carbon parts, bonded with a proprietary technique, not molded as one shell. It is a disc-brake frame with fully integrated cable routing and a carbon fork, and the seatpost is a D-shaped carbon design with a 15mm offset. A CeramicSpeed SLT headset and a T47 Shimano bottom bracket complete the chassis. Colnago positions the C68 as its modern race platform, and the geometry across the 48.5, 51 and 53cm sizes shows that, with a head tube angle between 71.5 and 72.5 degrees and chainstays of 408 to 414mm.
