The aerodynamic advantage stems from comprehensive frame optimization and a purpose-built cockpit. The aero handlebar and stem combination alone account for nearly 6 watts of savings, with refined tube shaping and internal cable routing delivering additional efficiency throughout the chassis. The completely internal housing keeps the frame clean and fast, while aero tube profiles work seamlessly with the aerodynamic philosophy Cervélo has perfected across its road racing platforms.
Remarkably, the Áspero-5 achieves this 37-watt performance gain while being 66 grams lighter than its predecessor—a feat accomplished despite adding significant surface area specifically designed for aerodynamic performance. The bike is immediately race-ready with 45mm tire clearance, a threaded bottom bracket, and downtube storage inspired by Cervélo's P-Series triathlon platform.
