Teamwork makes the dream work! The Van Rysel x Swiss Side collaboration on the XCR-Tri bike aimed to create the ultimate aerodynamic triathlon package. Mission accomplished! It’s been an honor for the Swiss Side team to contribute to this remarkable project Designed To Cheat The Wind This bike had to compete with the best, so we started by testing three of the top triathlon bikes to find the fastest. The top performer—let’s call it "Benchmark 1"—set the standard. In wind tunnel testing at 28 mph (45 km/h), the XCR saved 3.4 watts against Benchmark 1 when both had 80mm front and rear wheels. With a disc rear wheel, it still held an advantage, saving 2.8 watts. Uncompromising Stiffness Carbon layup is part art, part science, and part magic—key to both the stiffness and durability of the XCR. While the exact formula remains our secret, the numbers speak for themselves: Head tube: 151N/mm Bottom bracket: 225N/mm Chainstay: 69N/mm Engineered for maximum power transfer and responsiveness, every watt you push goes straight to the road. Impressive Frame Weight The XCR isn’t just aerodynamically efficient—it’s also lightweight for tackling rolling terrain. In size M, the XCR TRI frame weighs 1,493g, paired with the same high-performance carbon fork across all models at 470g.
