The Pelago Abo is designed to meet your needs as an urban cyclist with understated design that features thoughtful, subtle touches. The clean and classic steel frame is built for rough urban roads and long, hard winters - the steel absorbs road shock and the paint job is hard-wearing to last for years to come. The step-thru design makes dismounting easy while running errands, even with a fully-loaded rear rack. Like many of the European city bikes we sell, Pelago bikes are built for perpetual outdoor storage but are still light enough to carry inside. The 3-speed Shimano Nexus internal gear hub is fully weatherproofed and designed for all-year use with low maintenance needs, and the grip-shifter lets you easily change gears while wearing mittens and standing still at a red light. Fenders keep you dry in shoulder-season rainstorms, and the rim brakes provide reliable stopping power. Sturdy double-walled rims support Schwalbe Delta Cruiser Plus tires with internal puncture-proof protection for riding over glass and urban debris. The frame has welded braze-ons to allow for bottle cage mounting - a feature most city bikes overlook that makes this bike great for longer rides.

In addition to its enormous practicality, the Abo is stylish in a vintage classic way. A full-grain Brooks B17s leather saddle adds a touch of sophistication and tons of comfort once broken in and perfectly accents the heritage yellow frame colour. Swept-back handlebars provides a comfortable riding position while still allowing you to bear down when needed for climbs and breakaways. Add a front or rear rack (and basket of your choice!) to make the Abo a constant companion on your adventures in the city and out on the rail trails.
