The one-piece construction matters beyond the weight figure. Traditional carbon frame construction involves bonding separate frame segments at their junction points, which adds material, adds weight, and introduces potential variation in stiffness across joints. Kestrel's approach to the Legend SL eliminates that. The frame is assembled as a single continuous structure, with 800K fibers — Kestrel's highest stiffness-per-gram carbon — running without interruption through those segments. What you get is a cleaner power transfer, a more predictable ride character, and a 625-gram frame that takes the full Ultegra Di2 build to around 7.1 kilograms. For a road bike at this price, that's a rare weight target.
Shimano Ultegra Di2 handles the shifting throughout.
